外文標(biāo)題:Any use of force in South China Sea not acceptable to India: Salman Khurshid
外文地址:http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2013-07-01/india/40306919_1_salman-khurshid-south-china-sea-navigation
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Ahead of India-ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference, foreign minister Salman Khurshid on Monday said India will reject any use of force in the South China Sea where several Asean countries are locked in a territorial dispute with China. Later in the day, Khurshid will also have a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
Khurshid was replying to a query here about India's position about the call for a freedom of navigation by some Asean nations for a code of conduct in South China Sea.
"The Code of conduct is a work in progress but at part of the broad principles, we support freedom of navigation in South China Sea; the use of force is something which India rejects,'' said Khurshid.
The ongoing 46th Asean foreign ministers' meeting here has seen China, in a bid to prevent further escalation of strife, agreeing to hold official consultations over the issue. This was after Beijing's latest stand-off with Philippines which saw its foreign minister accusing China of increasing militarization in the region.
Apart from his bilateral with Wang, Khurshid is slated to have 9 other bilateral meetings Monday, including with his counterparts from Bangladesh, Canada, Cambodia and North Korea. About his meeting with the North Korean foreign minister, Khurshid said he was looking to firmly'' convey India's message over the issue of non-proliferation.

Such statement from a country like India which could not retaliate China to take back its force from Indian territory and instead appeased that country to move the force with dishonorable conditions will make the whole world laugh.

Apart from laughs and chuckles all around I don't think any ASEAN politician or anybody else feels reassured from such statements from Indian politicians, especially from someone that only recently caved in to China over the border incursion, and whats more allowed China to force India to move its observation post on its OWN TERRITORY because it could see too much regarding Chinese troop movements!! In other words India should not even look to see before it can be attacked! Stop the meaningless hot air Mr Khurshid.

Such statements look good. But everyone in India knows the big mouth Politicians very well. When they can't stop any illegal activity from Pakistan or even from Bangladesh, what are they going to do about South China Sea.... Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think that you are foolish, than opening it and confirming the same.... At least, in the case of our Politicians, it applies fully....

Khurshid sahib, instead of empty speeches, to divert from the real issued, make the Navy and allied forces so strong that China will think twice, to use force, I think, you know much batter or much more batter, that strength is the mantra in this world.
Mukesh S (Australia)
Yes minister you can express your opinion ,but India is ineffective and more toothless tiger that no one would care one way or anther.Only US can stop China, like it or not they already have a huge naval presence in south China and western Pacific.

Yeah,Khursid, what can you or India do anything when China uses force in the region? Instead you can put matured words like try to persuade China not to use force in the region and so on. You try to appear macho in front of reporters but we all know the limitations of India when dealing with China or US.
